Join Nissan Fans for a NISMO Road Trip to ZCON in Memphis
Nissan North America will be taking a road trip from the Nissan headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee to the 28th Annual International Z Car Convention (ZCon) in a couple weeks, and is looking for Nissan enthusiasts to join in on the fun. The festivities will start on Friday, July 17 in the morning for “cars and coffee,” followed by the 220-mile road trip to Memphis.
This year Nissan will be showing a variety of performance vehicles at ZCon, including the entire NISMO product lineup, an original 240Z, a 2009 40th Anniversary Z and the all-new 2016 Nissan Maxima and Titan XD. The feature car of the drive will be a 1974 Datsun 260Z 2+2 once driven by Yukata Katayama or Mr. K, the father of the Z and Datsun 510, and former Nissan USA president.
Joining in on the road trip will be Hiroshi Tamura, Nissan Chief Product Specialist for the GT-R, Z and NISMO, as well as additional members of the Nissan Marketing, Social Media, Motorsports, Communications and Product Planning teams. Former GT Academy U.S. winners and professional racers Nick Hammann and Bryan Heitkotter will also be making the drive.
The 2015 International Z Car Convention begins on Tuesday, July 14th and runs until Saturday, July 18th, concluding with an all-day car show and evening awards dinner banquet. Events including an autocross competition, raffle and driving tours will be held throughout the week.
